The Harvard Club of the Palm Beachesproudly presents Crimson ConversationsEnd of Life Decision Making: Physician Assisted Suicidewith Dr. Peter Schwartz Thursday, January 25, 2018
There are currently six states that have eliminated prohibition against Physician Assisted Suicide and over the past two years nine state medical societies have eliminated their opposition. However, the American Medical Association’s Code of Medical Ethics states “permitting physicians to engage in assisted suicide would ultimately cause more harm than good. Physician-assisted suicide is fundamentally incompatible with the physician’s role as healer, would be difficult or impossible to control, and would pose serious societal risks” The AMA Council on ethical and Judicial Affairs is currently relooking at their current position. Would you like to hear more? Would you like your opinion to be considered? Wine and light refreshments will be provided by the Club. Date: Thursday, January 25, 2018 Time: 6:00 pm cocktails, 7:00 pm presentation Place: Studio 1608, 1608 S.
