"My Ten Years in London as an Investment Banker to Margaret Thatcher" with Robert J. Barrett III
Forbes Magazine has named Bob Barrett one of Florida's "Leading Businessmen" and "perhaps the most experienced Investment Banker in the state." He is Co-Founder of Cross Keys Capital Investment Bank of Ft. Lauderdale. For a period of ten years (1980-1990), Bob lived in London and held the position of senior financial advisor to Margaret Thatcher and the British Treasury - underwriting most of the leading privatizations in England, including British Telecom, British Water and British Airways, during a period when the country was in deep financial straits. Bob will give his personal account of what happened to the British economy during that transformational decade and what it was like to work with the "Iron Lady."
