The Dragon's Tale: The Next Chapter
Please join us for an informative afternoon talk featuring HBS Professor Warren McFarlan, author and subject matter expert on China's evolving role in the world economy. In 2018, China faces new dramatic challenges. The country, since its emergence under Deng Xiaoping in 1978, has been driven by a low-cost export-focused production strategy. Remarkably successful for four decades, it is no longer viable. Since 2013, they have been trying to both climb the value-added chain and also compete more broadly on an international basis. Professor McFarlan will give us his insights on what this means for the U.S. About the Speaker:
Professor McFarlan earned his AB from Harvard University in 1959, and his MBA and DBA from HBS in 1961 and 1965 respectively. He has been a long-time teacher in the Advanced Management Program: International Senior Managers Program, Delivering Information Services Program and several of the Social Sector programs. He is currently teaching in several Executive Education programs.
