Crimson Conversations
Proudly presents
Chef Sidney Semedo
"A Chef in the Harvard Tradition"
We are delighted to welcome Chef Sidney Semedo, executive chef of the West Palm Beach Marriott’s Bistro Ten Zero One, as our Crimson Conversation speaker this month. He has a special relationship with Harvard, having served as chef of both Harvard Club of Boston locations. Our members who have attended our First-Wednesday luncheons are familiar with his inventive cuisine.
A native of the Cape Verde, he is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Boston. His mother ran a restaurant in Cape Verde before moving to the United States. He cooked his first meal at seven years old, and thereafter helped his mother prep and cook in the restaurant kitchen. Traditional French technique is the foundation of his cuisine with its spark derived from his familiarity with Portuguese and African flavors. For the Crimson Conversation event, Chef Sidney plans to offer dishes inspired by his Boston experience. And he will share his perspective on what is required to become an executive chef and on the difference in ingredients availability in Boston and Palm Beach County.
