David Birnbaum comes from a multi-generational family business dealing in rare gems and jewels and fine diamonds. He founded Rare 1 in New York City as a private dealer in rare and fine gems and pearls.

He will share his advice for evaluating and purchasing rare and unusual jewelry and share a look at some of his current catalog.

About our Speaker:
DAVID BIRNBAUM is an internationally recognized Private Jeweler and gem authority. He has written the American column for Diamant Magazine (Antwerp) and the Precious Gems column for the Investment Digest group of publications. Mr. Birnbaum has contributed major articles to national jewelry publications, including Jewelers Circular Keystone Magazine and Precioustones Newsletter. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School and has served as a member of the faculty of the New School for Social Research in New York. In 1979 David Birnbaum became one of the youngest principals admitted to the De Beers “List.”
