Join the Harvard Club of Broward County for a memorable Sunday filled with discovery and tranquility. Enjoy a private, guided tour of the Hillsboro Inlet and Lighthouse, followed by an engaging discussion on the United States Coast Guard with Liz Booker MPA 2008, CDR, USCG (ret.)—a proud member of the Harvard Club of Broward County. Afterward, unwind with fellow members at our reserved beach space, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

We’ll provide a light lunch and refreshments to keep everyone fueled and refreshed throughout the day.
Please feel free to bring along comfort items such as chairs, towels, or anything else that will make your time by the water more enjoyable. Additionally, if you’d like to bring a cooler with your favorite beverage, that would be great (optional but recommended).
The General rules for climbing the 175 stairs to the top of the lighthouse:
* Closed-toe footwear required (no flip-flops or open-toed sandals).
* No backpacks, drinks, food, or containers are allowed in the lighthouse.
* Children must be at least four feet tall and accompanied by an adult.
Also, persons with physical difficulties or health conditions should consider the effort necessary to climb steep and winding stairs.

About Liz Booker
Liz Booker MPA 2008, is a retired U.S. Coast Guard Commander, helicopter pilot, and diplomat. In her 28-year career she served as deckhand on a buoy tender, search and rescue planner, ship navigator, H65 Dolphin helicopter pilot, human resources manager, Caribbean and Eastern Pacific counter-narcotics targeting officer, and the senior U.S. Military representative to the U.S. Ambassador and the Chiefs of Defense and Police of seven Eastern Caribbean Island nations. From 2003-2007, she flew operations based out of Opa-Locka on migrant interdiction, search and rescue, and counter-narcotics missions along the Florida coast, in the Bahamas, and across the Caribbean. Her eldest son, Lance, is currently in his thirteenth year of Coast Guard service.
Liz retired to Weston, Florida in 2019 with her husband Robert, daughter Zoe, and son Zachary, where she promotes books and authors whose works feature women in aviation as Literary Aviatrix with a website, YouTube Channel, and author interview podcast.
