We are deeply saddened to share the unexpected passing of our beloved colleague, long-time Events Chair, Director, and cherished friend, Carolyn Carpentieri Potter AB '63.

Carolyn was a pillar of our community—gracious, dedicated, and endlessly generous with her time and talents. We will gather to celebrate her remarkable life, her unwavering service, and the many ways she touched those around her. In Carolyn’s honor, we’ll raise a glass of her favorite Prosecco as we share memories and reflect on the legacy she leaves behind.

All who knew Carolyn are warmly invited to join us.

Carolyn Carpentieri Potter was a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Over the course of her distinguished career, she served as an editor, publisher, and college faculty member. Her editorial expertise, particularly in the apparel and retail sectors, shaped numerous publications in New York and beyond. Carolyn also authored a vital health and wellness curriculum for American junior high schools, a testament to her commitment to education and well-being.

Carolyn lived with heart and purpose—not just through her professional accomplishments, but in the way she cared for those she loved, including her beloved pets. She took her dog, Trace, to the dog park daily, rain or shine, and doted on her cherished cat, Winston. Her devotion to them was just one of the many reflections of her warmth and compassion.
In accordance with her wishes, Carolyn’s final resting place will be in Paris, where her late husband is laid to rest—a touching tribute to a lifelong bond.

Her kindness, intelligence, and vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. She will be profoundly missed.
