An overview of Haiti's present challenges placed in historical context, highlighting how centuries of external pressures and internal struggles converge in today's crisis. 
Improving the lives of people through humanitarian and development initiatives - challenges and successes presented.  

About our speaker
Elie Lafortune is a leader in SME agriculture advisory, food security, and development finance. Mr. Lafortune has over 20 years of diverse professional experience in agriculture, project design, impact assessment, strategy development, planning, monitoring & evaluation, project management, capacity building and coaching, microfinance, and small business development. He earned an MPA from the Kennedy School of Government in 2011.
